Organic Soap Workshop

Organic Soap Workshop - Du Savon Artisanal - Seifenwerkstatt
A fragrance of lavender in the air!

On Monday 29th June, a part of the 5A class were asked to make soap as a project. Professor Fiechtl and Professor Haderspeck worked with the class to make the products out of natural resources.

In the chemistry laboratory we produced organic and natural soap. Of course, we considered the corona measures and wore face masks. We made two kinds of soaps: A soap made from poppy seeds for an optimal peeling effect and Lavandula soap. The aim was to find out how we could replace artificial soap and washing detergents by organic soap. In our homemade soap we replaced unknown and synthetic ingredients and unnatural perfumes by organic ingredients such as sunflower oil, olive oil, rape oil, coconut fat, essential oils (lavender, lemon) and beeswax.
